Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 28, 2026

About this policy

This policy describes privacy practices for the public ASU Fruit & Vegetable Study website and the study's text-messaging service. Arizona State University researchers in the College of Health Solutions are studying how Phoenix-area elementary schools and nearby grocery stores can work together to promote fruits and vegetables for children and families.

This policy does not replace the study's informed-consent materials. Additional information about research data collection, use, retention, confidentiality, and participant rights may be provided during screening and enrollment and in the informed-consent materials.

Information collected through this website

This website does not contain a registration form or directly request personal information. If you select a screening link, you leave this website and enter an ASU Qualtrics screening survey. Information submitted in that survey is collected as part of the study screening process and is addressed by the information presented with the survey and, when applicable, the study's informed-consent materials.

The website uses the Meta Pixel to measure page visits and language-specific page views. Meta may automatically receive information such as browser or device information, IP address, and interactions with this website, and may use cookies or similar technologies according to its own privacy practices. The website host and its technical service providers may also process routine server-log information needed to operate, secure, and diagnose the site.

How information is used and disclosed

Website information may be used to operate and protect the site, understand site usage, support recruitment, and direct interested people to study screening. Information may be processed by providers that support website hosting, analytics, screening, telecommunications, or messaging on behalf of the study.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law, legal process, or applicable university obligations; to protect rights, safety, or security; or as otherwise described in study screening or informed-consent materials. Research information is handled under the applicable study materials and ASU requirements.

SMS/Text Messaging Privacy

Participants may be presented with SMS participation information during the study screening or enrollment process. Those who choose to participate may then opt in by texting START to (480) 531-8199. The study does not collect SMS consent through this website.
